Puppy Classes
Puppy Skills and Socialization
Puppies are so much fun and totally adorable. But let’s face it…they’re also a lot of work! In addition to teaching important skills, these classes will help you tame the chaos, save your shoes, and protect your sanity during the wild and wooly days of puppyhood.
It’s never too early to start giving your puppy the skills he needs to grow into a happy, healthy, well-adjusted dog.
In this class, your puppy will learn everyday skills like sit, down, wait and come when called. We’ll also work on areas like crate training, leash walking, socialization and confidence building.
*Puppies should have their first round of vaccinations to participate in this class.
For: Puppies 8 weeks to 4 months old* | Class Length: 6 weeks | Class Tuition: $180
Puppy Life Skills
Once your puppy has learned the basics, help prepare him for everyday life by your side…no matter where you go or what you do.
In this class, we’ll build on the skills your puppy learned in Puppy Skills and Socialization. But we’ll take them into the real world! Your puppy will have positive experiences and learn proper dog etiquette in other venues like the vet’s office, outdoor cafés, parks and more.
Note: The Puppy Skills and Socialization class is a prerequisite but if you missed it, don’t worry! Just email or call to find out how you can participate in Puppy Life Skills.

Surviving Adolescence
It happens to every puppy parent. Your perfectly well-behaved baby suddenly “forgets” all their good behavior. Welcome to the not-so- wonderful world of doggie adolescence!
Like human teenagers, they start pushing their boundaries and asserting their independence. So this is the time to go back to basics and brush up on all those skills they’ve “forgotten.” We’ll also address some common adolescent behavior problems in class, and provide plenty of support to help you survive your dog’s terrible teens.
For: Teenage dogs age 6+ months | Class Length: 6 weeks | Class Tuition: $180
Adult Classes
Tricks 1 Class At Animal Rescue Foundation – Coming June 4!
Coming June 4, 2017, Sherry will be teaching Tricks Level 1 classes at ARF in Walnut Creek!
Is your dog bored with the same old “sit” and “stay”? Get his brain working with this Tricks class! We will work on a variety of unusual tricks, such as “say prayers”, ” sit pretty”, “crawl”, “peekaboo”, and circling around an object. Many dogs do not get enough mental exercise – tricks training is the perfect remedy!

Tricks 2 Class At Animal Rescue Foundation – Coming June 4!
Starting June 4, 2017 Sherry will be teaching Tricks Level 2 classes at ARF!
More brain puzzles for your dog! This class will take your training to the next level with challenging tricks. Your dog will learn to use his body in new ways as he backs up, crosses his paws, “hugs” an object, pivots in place, balances treats on his head, and more. You’ll be amazed at what your dog can learn with the right guidance!
